Nox meter

Takumi NOx metre monitors NOx in internal combustion engine exhaust. Nitrogen oxides create air pollution, smog, and acid rain (NOx). Monitoring and reducing NOx emissions improves air quality and meets environmental laws.

Combustion in engines creates NOx, which is a major pollutant. The combustion chamber generates energy for the engine. Fuel type, combustion temperature, and engine design affect NOx production during combustion.

Experts use nox metres with cutting-edge sensors and algorithms to detect NOx in engine exhaust. "NOx"—nitric oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2)—are the gases identified (NO2). Both pollutants are measured in ppm or g/kg (grams per kilogram).

Non-dispersive infrared and chemiluminescence nox metres are the most prevalent (NDIR). Chemiluminescence analysers detect NO, NO2, and total NOx, making them the most used NOx metres. A chemiluminescence analyser can compute air nox diesel content from NOx-ozone reactions.

Infrared NDIR nox metres monitor NOx concentrations. These tools measure exhaust stream NOx concentration using NO2's infrared light absorption.

Automotive and electricity sectors employ both kinds of NOx metres because they are precise and dependable. These items assist engine control systems fulfil tight emission standards by maximising efficiency and decreasing nitrogen oxide emissions (NOx).

Why NOx Readings Are Often Wrong

NOx may be obscured by engine exhaust gases and particulates. Carbon dioxide and water vapour, which absorb infrared light, may diminish NOx metre sensitivity. Modern statistical methods may reduce this effect.

NOx metres must be calibrated regularly. Calibration involves detecting NOx in a known gas to verify readings under typical operating circumstances.

Takumi NOx measurement accuracy relies on ambient temperature since combustion process temperature affects NOx generation. Hence, NOx measurements need correct temperature data. Take an accurate temperature measurement and account for fluctuations.
