An ignition coil that's broken won't directly tell you "I'm broken."
But it will send out some signals; it's up to you to understand them.
Signal 1: Acceleration Jerking. When you try to overtake, pressing the accelerator doesn't result in a smooth forward surge, but rather a jerky, halting motion. This indicates that the ignition coil in one cylinder is intermittently misfiring, causing intermittent power output.

Signal 2: Idle Vibration. While waiting at a red light, you experience irregular vibrations in the steering wheel and seat. The tachometer needle fluctuates wildly. This indicates unstable coil output voltage, causing intermittent spark plug ignition.
Signal 3: Soaring Fuel Consumption. Insufficient ignition energy results in incomplete combustion of the air-fuel mixture, forcing the engine control unit to inject more fuel. You might find that the same tank of gas used to get you 500 kilometers, but now it only gets you 400. Don't just blame the fuel price; check the ignition coil first.
Signal 4: Engine Malfunction Light Illuminates. When the computer detects a persistent misfire in a cylinder, it will illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp and store fault codes "P0301-P0304" (corresponding to misfires in cylinders 1-4). Don't delay; prolonged misfires will damage the catalytic converter, which can cost several thousand dollars to replace.

Signal 5: Normal when cold, problems occur when hot. This is the most insidious. The insulation layer inside the ignition coil is aging. It works fine when cold, but expands and leaks electricity when hot. You drive to the repair shop, and once the car cools down, the problem is gone. The mechanic is baffled, and so are you.
Takumi ignition coils use high-temperature resistant insulation materials and precision windings, undergoing high-temperature aging tests and load simulation tests before leaving the factory. They can withstand engine compartment temperatures above 150°C, providing stable output without intermittent "breakdowns."
